Faculty of Perioperative Care Conference 2017

Building on the success of our previous Faculty conferences, our next annual meeting will be held in Birmingham on Saturday 4 November 2017 exploring the theme The Surgical Team: are perioperative practitioners increasingly working towards a medical model of care?

This meeting is open to all perioperative practitioners, as well as surgeons who work closely with advanced practitioners (e.g. surgical care practitioners, surgical first assistants) and have an interest in the future of the surgical team.

Confirmed speakers to date include:

Mona Guckian Fisher, Past President AFPP
Adrian Jones, President AFPP
Simon Parsons, Consultant Surgeon and Associate Professor, Nottingham University and Codirector of EIDO Healthcare
Jeremy Ward, Consultant Surgeon, Lancashire Teaching hospitals, Chair of RCSEd's Specialty Surgical Board in General Surgery
Jeannie Watkins, President Faculty of Physician Associates and Senior Lecturer at St George's University of London

The full programme will be available soon.

The Faculty also plan to hold an informal meeting the day prior, at the RCSEd Regional Centre in Birmingham, providing an opportunity to meet and advise us on what other forms of education and support you would wish the Faculty to provide perioperative practitioners. This will be a good networking opportunity and we would recommend Faculty members endeavour to attend.

6 CPD points will be awarded to attendees.
