On 17 October 2022, Charlie Auld stepped down from the role of FPC Lead and handed over to new Lead, Juliette Murray. Charlie has been the head of the Faculty since its inception in 2016, playing an integral part in the establishment and development of the FPC.
The Faculty are proud to announce that at the October Diploma Ceremony at The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Charlie was awarded The President’s Gold Medal by outgoing RCSEd President Professor Michael Griffin. The President’s Gold Medal is awarded once during each President's Term of Office to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the College over many years, and the FPC are delighted that Charlie received this honour.
At the 8th Annual FPC Conference on Saturday 19 November, the incoming RCSEd President Professor Rowan Parks presented Charlie with a painting of the College, as a token of appreciation and celebration on behalf of the Faculty.
The Faculty would like to thank Charlie for all his hard work and dedication over the last six years as FPC Lead and wish him a very happy retirement!
